Teaching was....

Teaching was for me a wonderful experience.  I enjoyed it very much and I can only say, that the children and the adults that sat at my tables to take the challenge to sculpt their very own pets, were all very surprised on how neat and interesting of an experience they  had.  The smiles on everyones face was the best part of it all.   It was interesting cause before the eyes went on the sculpts they were like... well it looks  good, then the eyes were added and all of a sudden,  that was when the students would get a huge smile on their face. The eyes is what would bring the little sculptures to life. It never failed, each and every time the eyes were made the students would then understand what they had created. Very cool to see that. 

So I was glad Paws Way decided to entertain my idea to have me teach a couple of Sculpting classes on their facilities. I feel it was a great success and they too were thrilled on the response they got from the patrons that they spoke with.  So good times all around.

This weekend I was teaching sculpting

This weekend I was teaching children and adults alike how to make miniature cartoon sculptures of their doggies.  

I had a blast,  the kids were really great and so were the adults. I took photos of the proud students displaying their works of art.  It was really nice to see the look on their faces when they were done and walking away happy.  The place was closed and people where still making the sculpts, we shut the place down, lol  It was a hit. Not bad for a first time out teaching sculpture.  Here are some pics of the students and their sculpted pets.

People if your eyes could only see the real thing. i am in disbelief on how good it turned out. 

I am so damn proud of this one. My skills keep getting better and better and I feel like I am on cloud nine because of it.  This project has been one of my best thus far. I keep saying that but it is true. Every time I do something new it is just better then the last. So I hope you enjoy this pc. It has taken me approximately 9 hours of hands on work to complete. Tedious detail that has not eluded my carving tools. The right look of beauty and character Big Ben possess.  I try to bring out the special character that each one of the dogs has when  I sculpt them.  

If you so chose to have me sculpt one of your dogs, I guaranty you will not be disappointed.

Bull Mastiff Head Study

Bull Mastiff Miniature Bust Sculpt.

I have started the Bull Masttiff  Sculpt and it is coming along. It is still in its shaping stages but you can all have a peak on how it is going. I am happy with it so far but still have to refine the proportions and shapes and look of the head. But for now slowly building it up to resemble the Bull Mastiff. Feedback is appreciated.

The first Black Lab Miniature Sculpture.  Done and completed ready for delivery to the client.

I have shown  them the  previous steps and they were very impressed and happy to see the work in progress. So now I can imagine how they are going to feel when they see the finished pc.  I am excited to see the reaction. I know they are going to love it.  The Photos don't do the actual sculpt justice. The sculpt looks much better  then the pics.

The conclusion of the Lab Sculpture

Here is the finished unpainted Miniature Sculpture. I still have to do the painting and customizing it to suit the actual Lab at question here.  I am very pleased with the results and I am sure my client will be too. I will be posting shots of the painted image when done.

Attempting a Black Lab Sculpture.

I was asked if I could sculpt a Black Lab for a friend who's brothers dog is almost at its end. 

They love the Black Lab and he wants to surprise his brother with a sculpt. So he has commissioned me to make this for him. I am happy to say that I am pleased with the results so far. I have here the first image of the lump that will be a Black Lab. This is just a first of the image changes will take place in between and and till I am happy with the end pc.  So here is the first of the sculpt partially finished. i will be making changes as I go along to the sculpt. Maybe change the position or legs or eyes or anything that I feel needs to be changed. Hope you all like it.

The 3 hard shells

So now I finally have a nice day,  where I was able to coat the rubber molds with the exoskeleton. lol 

Meaning I brushed the hard shell on the exterior to help the rubber maintain its form. 

Now I have to wait one hour before they are solid and easy to saw in half. 

Then I will start the process of casting them in the resin.
